Veterans campaign achieves goal, collects €84,000
The annual hepatica flower pin campaign in honor of Estonian Defense Forces and Defense League veterans has collected an estimated 84,000 euros to purchase a rehabilitation robotic system for the Haapsalu Neurological Rehabilitation Center.
The charity campaign was led by the Estonian Association of Wounded Warriors and Women’s Voluntary Defense Organization. It passed its initial 80,000-euro goal with several thousand euros and considerably more than in 2014, when people donated almost 68,000 euros for the East-Tallinn Hospital Clinic for Medical Rehabilitation.
The hepatica pins were crafted by people with special needs all over Estonia and sold at 2 euros a piece.
The campaign ended on May 3.
