Ligi caught speeding again (3)
Education Minister Jürgen Ligi was caught speeding in Tallinn, near Toompea, today, the second such offense this year.
According to police, Ligi was driving at least 21 kilometers faster than the speed limit of 50 kilometers per hour. Ligi admitted to speeding and was fined 160 euros, Delfi reported.
“The official report says that I was accelerating and even if I went over the speed limit for a moment, I apologize. I attempted to win back a few seconds after being held in traffic, but instead received 30 minutes in procedures, embarrassment and negative headlines,” he said, adding that the media already called him when he was still in the police car.
In January, Ligi was caught driving 113 kilometers per hour in a 90 zone. He was fined 120 euros that time.
