One month after Estonia's first school shooting, the 15-year-old student accused of killing a teacher is still in a medical institution, while investigators say they have not finished talking to witnesses.

"Necessary procedures, including talking to witnesses, are being conducted during the pre-trial procedure. The boy is still in a health institution,“ Kristina Kostina, the spokesman for the Prosecutor's Office, said. The student was taken to the institution one day after the shooting took place.

On October 27, a student shot and killed Ene Sarap, 56, a teacher of German, during a lesson at the Paalalinna School in Viljandi.

No others were harmed, and the shooter did not resist arrest.

According to Estonian laws, minors of at least 14-years old can be prosecuted, and the student, if found guilty, can face up to 10 years in prison.
