As we approach the 20th anniversary of the worst peacetime shipping disaster in the nation's history, ETV's “Pealtnägija” has spoken to two Swedish rescue workers who helped save dozens of passengers and crew members of the Estonia, which took the lives of 852 people.

Despite the rough sea conditions with wave height up to six meters and wind speeds around 70 kilometers per hour, rescue workers, often risking their own lives, managed to save 137 people on the early morning of September 28, 1994.

ETV spoke to Swedish helicopter pilot Agne Widholm and rescue worker Kenneth Svensson, both of whom saw self-sacrificing action during the rescue operation.
