Object of Search and Rescue Operation Turns Up Asleep at Friend's House (1)
Police summoned a helicopter and a team of 14 officers to search for a man who called emergency services saying he was lost in the woods, but was later found sleeping at a friend's home.
Police began their search immediately after the call, which was made last weekend from an area north of Tartu, Õhtuleht reported today.
Police used mobile positioning to begin the search, checking abandoned houses. They continued their search the next day until receiving a tip-off that the 39-year-old might be at a friend's home.
When contacted by police the friend refuted the claim, but police searched the home after receiving a second, similar tip, finding the missing man unharmed and asleep.
