Court Says Old Town Bars Can Stay Open Late Through April
Tallinn Administrative Court has temporarily halted the plan to force two popular bars in Tallinn Old Town to close early, pending the outcome of the case.
Under the ruling made today, it will be business as usual at Nimeta and Shooters through the end of April.
The court noted that the parties in the case came to an agreement on the provisional legal protection, the court's spokeswoman Anneli Vilu told uudised.err.ee.
The challenge to Tallinn City's order, along with the motion for a suspension of the order, was filed by Nimeta Baar owners Vallo Palvadre and Andrew Gleeson.
Citing noise complaints from residents in the neighborhood and other reasons, city officials had sought to make the bars close at midnight on weekdays and 1:00 in the morning on weekend nights starting on February 10.
