Japan considering role in NATO CCD COE (2)

Maj. Gen. Kazuo Tokito, a leading IT officer in the Japanese Defense Forces, met Estonia's defense chief, Maj. Gen. Riho Terras, to discuss the possible inclusion of Japan in the NATO's Cooperative Cyber Defense Center of Excellence in Tallinn (CCD COE).

On the official one-day visit to Tallinn today, Tokito is also meeting the Ministry of Defense secretary general, Mikk Marran, and under secretary Taimar Peterkop, Foreign Ministry under secretary Marina Kaljurand and Japanese Ambassador to Estonia Tetsuro Kaiga.

Besides the CCD COE, Tokito visited the State Information System Authority.

Terras initiated the dialogue and the Japanese interest on a 2013 visit to Japan, said Estonian officials.
