When talk turns to the Estonian startup scene, sometimes the same heavyweights get name-dropped. A piece in a London-based online magazine has 10 examples of innovations that are happening now.

DonateIT – "Basically you can compete with your friends on how many lives you have saved," writes Estonian World.

Jobbatical – connects skilled professionals and companies looking for their expertise in six- to 12-month stints.

Wellbiome – a health app, currently in beta, that offers scientific personalized dietary recommendations based on the microflora in a person’s gut.

Taxify – a taxi dispatch platform for taxi companies and drivers, a mobile app for clients for ordering any taxi instantly, without hassle.

Rahu – The name means "calm." If an elderly relative has fallen and can't get up, it alerts the family and sends the data to its monitoring center.
