Parent Funds 32 iPads for Elite School Students
The contribution, which according to the school's director Hendrik Agur in Postimees was made on condition of anonymity, buys a year of time for the school to start implementing the plan.
Teacher training of tablet computers completed this spring and the school has prepared a plan for the iPad project, though it is not yet connected to the curriculum. A set of assignments have been developed which can be used in different parts of a lesson. The computers will be partially used in language studies, mathematics and natural sciences as an interactive teaching method to get the young students interested in the subjects.
Tablet computers arrive within a week from Europe and they will remain at the school at all times. Agur said measures will be taken to purchase or keep leasing the iPads if the project turns out to be successful by the end of the school year.
