Estonian ICT Week in full swing in Tallinn
The annual ICT Week that is taking place this week, strives to be the most eventful week in the Estonia's ICT calendar.
The ICT Week brings opinion leaders, entrepreneurs, venture capitalists, foreign top officials and representatives of international organizations to Tallinn and combines several conferences and special events.
Last year, over 1,000 foreign guests flew in to hear about the latest developments in the Nordic and Baltic IT sectors. This year, the Estonian ICT Week has even bigger ambitions. The main topics in 2015 include e-governance and e-residency, green IT, smart industry, fintech (financial technology) and hardware evolution.
The cornerstone of the eventful week is the Latitude59 networking conference, which is celebrating its eighth year. Latitude59 brings together innovators and entrepreneurs from all all Baltic and Nordic countries, also some special guests from different parts of Europe, the US and Asia. This time, up to 700 participants are expected, including startups, tech students, entrepreneurs, venture capitalists and business angels.
Speakers include Kristo Käärmann, the CEO of TransferWise, Robin Wauters, the Founding Editor of Tech.EU, Ken Singer from the Center for Entrepreneurship and Technology at UC Berkeley, and many others. There will also be a pitch competition where 10 startups from Estonia, Russia, the US, Finland and Lithuania will compete.
On Thursday night, TransferWise will throw a “startup party” at the newly renovated Creative Hub (Kultuurikatel).
