Prototron Third Wave: Luxury Car Electronics and Languages in 200 Hours
Prototron, a project to fund high-tech prototypes, has picked the two winners of its third application round: an electronic management system for luxury cars and a program that aims to teach foreign languages in 200 hours.
Initiated by Swedbank, Tehnopol Science Park and Tallinn University of Technology, the project will hand out a total of 300,000 euros over the next three years, ETV reported on Tuesday.
High-Mobility, the team behind a system for luxury vehicles that would unite functions like climate control, seat massage, music and navigation into one app, received 7,000 euros. The team has been in negotiations with the likes of Saab, Volvo and Koenigsegg.
The overall winner among the 57 ideas submitted was Language Accelerator, which walked away with 9,900 euros. Their idea was to create a program that can teach a foreign language to any learner in 200 hours. The program is based on statistical analysis created by engineers and adapts to the learner's knowledge and capability, as well as the difficulty of the language.
The Prototron initiative was set up in 2012 and will run four application rounds per year.
