Rock Picks Up 7th Straight International Win
TÜ/Rock basketball team won its third game in the second group stage of the EuroChallenge international basketball tournament, making it seven straight victories in the tournament.
Rock beat Romanian club Gaz Metan Mediasi by 30 points in Tartu on Tuesday in the tournament, which serves as the third tier of European basketball club competitions. Rock had previously also beaten last year's winner, Krasnye Krylia.
Medias began well, but a 10-0 run took Rock ahead, and they never looked back, with Tanel Kurbas adding 24 points, Janar Talts 20 and Augustas Pečiukevičius 17.
Estonia's other top basketball team, Kalev Cramo, has already dropped out of the Eurocup, the second level tournament, but is still in the VTB United League, which features teams from ten nations in central, eastern and northern Europe.
