Lindpere Extends Contract with NY Red Bulls
Estonian midfielder Joel Lindpere signed a multi-year contract with his Major League Soccer club, the New York Red Bulls, on January 31, putting an end to talk of him returning to a career in Europe.
The 30-year-old, who has been with the Bulls for two seasons, had earlier been described on ESPN's blog as one of the most underpaid players in the MLS. The new deal he struck with the club comes with improved conditions, rus.err.ee reported.
On inking the contract, Lindpere said that he was glad to be continuing his career as a Red Bull, but that he felt there was still work to be done.
“I have so much to win still. I haven’t got the MLS Cup yet,” Lindpere said in a statement on the team's website.
