Estonia's Rasmus Mägi claimed a silver medal in the men's 400-meter hurdles at the European Athletics Championships in Zurich, the nation's second of the games.

A 10th of a second separated Mägi from gold medalist, Switzerland's Kariem Hussein, and bronze finisher, Russia's Denis Kudryavtsev.

Mägi, who displayed a powerful finishing kick, posted a time of 49.06. Hussein's 48.96 was a personal best.

In Wednesday's semifinal, Mägi set a new Estonian record, 48.54.

Earlier this week in Zurich, Gerd Kanter placed second in the men's discus event.
