Football Association Faced With Logistics Problem Ahead of League Finale
FC Levadia and FC Flora are the only two teams left in contention for the Estonian football league title, which will be decided in two Ida-Viru County stadiums on Saturday.
Levadia will win the title if they defeat Narva Trans on Saturday in Narva, while Flora will take on Sillamäe Kalev in Sillamäe. Only a victory for FC Flora, and Levadia losing, will hand them the title.
The Football Association is ready to quickly transport the cup to either city but the actual cup will begin the match day in Narva. Last season the title was already decided before the last game and Levadia began their celebrations after the final game in Saaremaa a year ago.
Aivar Pohlak, the Association's President, said he and the cup will be in Narva and they will re-evaluate the situation at half time. Both game begin simultaneously at 13:00 on Saturday.
He said if during the second half the title hangs in the balance of one goal, he will drive to a middle point of the two cities and from there it is only seven minutes to either stadium.
The last day is predicted to be one of the most interesting in recent years. Levadia is fighting for first or second place, Flora will win a medal, but could get any of the three shades. Sillamäe can win second, come third or even fourth. Nõmme Kalju could yet get a medal, if Sillamäe fails to win.
Levadia's match against Narva will be shown live on ETV, ERR News will post a link with pre-match information before the final round.
