Kanepi Beats Errani in Kremlin Cup
Estonia's top tennis player Kaia Kanepi made her Kremlin Cup debut on October 17, playing her first-round match in Moscow against 46th-ranked Italian Sara Errani, and winning 6-0, 7-5.
Kanepi (WTA 43rd), who was no doubt still brimming with confidence following her defeat of the world's number one, Caroline Wozniacki, at last month's Pan Pacific Open, went up against Errani for the fourth time. Two of their previous three pairings ended in defeat for the Estonian.
Kanepi will face Francesca Schiavone (WTA 12th), also of Italy, in the next round
The tournament, which carries over 500,000 euros in prize money, runs through October 23.
