Tartu Football Club Signs With American Alexander Nimo
The Tartu football club Tammeka signed a two-year contract with Liberian-born American Alexander Nimo.
The 21-year-old will be an important addition for the team, according to head coach Kristjan Tiirik.
"Nimo's skills match his resume and at the moment I definitely want to put him in the main lineup," Tiirik said on the club's homepage.
The coach said he plans to employ Nimo as a second striker or a winger.
A former player for the United States national under-20 football team, Nimo tried out with a team in Polish Second League in January and was on trial with Tammeka since last month.
Nimo last played for Real Salt Lake, the Tartu football club's website announced.
He trained for FC Portland Soccer Academy and the IMG Soccer Academy in Florida. Nimo was drafted into Major League Soccer in 2008, and was loaned out to the Portland Timbers in 2009 and 2010.
FC Tartu Tammeka recently signed a contract with Cameroonian striker Gael White Njeukam.
