Taaramäe Skips Alpine Training, Heads to Andalucia
Cyclist Rein Taaramäe canceled plans to attend a 10-day training course in the Alps, due to icy conditions, and is instead preparing to head to a race in Andalucia on February 19.
The 24-year-old hoped the Alpine program would help him prepare for Paris-Nice, to be held in March, reported Õhtuleht.
"Unfortunately it is too cold in the mountains, like in Estonia, which means that I wouldn't be able to properly train," said Taaramäe.
Last weekend, Taaramäe took third place in Etoile de Besseges, the season's second European event on the International Cycling Union calendar.
