Estonia's top tennis player Kaia Kanepi (WTA 42) could not repeat her feat from her last trip to Wimbledon, falling in the second round to Yaroslava Shevdova (WTA 65) of Kazakhstan on Saturday.

She lost the first set 6-3, then went down 2-0 in the second before eventually leveling the match and squeaking out the set 7-6. Kanepi began the last set in the worst possible way, beginning her ultimately doomed comeback at 4-0 down, losing 6-1.

"She served very well today and played aggressively. I had also many break point opportunities in the first set but could not convert them," Kanepi said on her website. "I did not serve as well as I did in the first round match. When the serve does not work, then it is very difficult to play on grass with the style I have."

Kanepi has played twice in the quarterfinals of Wimbledon, in 2010 and last year, when she lost to Sabine Lisicki of Germany, then ranked 24th in the world.

The Estonian rugby 7s team returned from Saturday's European Championship Division B tournament with goals unfilled, ending in the sixth place, one worse than a year ago.

Estonia was out in full force and optimistic, gunning for a top-four finish, and had the chance of inflicting revenge on Slovakia, who beat them at the tournament a year ago.

It did not go well, as Estonia lost 24-12. The second game against the hosts, the Czech Republic, went even worse with Estonia losing 45-5. Estonia then beat Belarus in the third game, by 26-14, to clinch third place in the group.

Estonia beat Iceland 14-5 in the competition for places between five and eight, before losing to Bosnia and Herzegovina 19-17 to land on sixth place.
