The spark that Kaia Kanepi had shown in her past four matches was missing today as the country's top female tennis player conceded defeat in her Wimbledon quarterfinal against Sabine Lisicki of Germany.

Unforced errors were the story of the match, with Kanepi having twice as many as her opponent. A double fault with Lisicki having a chance to break right back in the second set also seemed demoralizing.

Lisicki, who holds the women's record for fastest serve at 210 km/h, brought her A-game to her first service, keeping Kanepi off balance throughout the match, which was played in an hour and change.

Lisicki, ranked 24th in the world, advances to the semifinals, while Kanepi was unable to improve on her career best Wimbledon in 2010, when she also reached the quarterfinals.
