Regulation-Size Indoor Football Facility to Open This Winter
Estonia’s first full sized indoor football (soccer) field will open in February next to the national team's home field, A. Le Coq Arena in Tallinn.
The Estonian Football Association has found funding to complete the project, over a decade after construction first began. The building is due to be opened next February, Mihkel Uiboleht, a spokesman for the association, told ETV.
“One side of the field will have seating for 600 spectators. The main goal is to improve practice conditions during winter,” added Uiboleht.
The arena will be used as a training ground for teams playing in the Estonian premier league - the Meistriliiga - and youth leagues. Uiboleht did not rule out the possibility of also hosting league matches if the weather does not permit outdoor games.
The project will cost 2.2 million euros, ETV reported.
