National Cycling Team's Bikes Stolen at Peace Race
Misfortune has befallen Estonian competitive cyclists.
The Estonian junior road racing team, which started a competition in the Peace Race in the Czech Republic, was robbed blind last night, Delfi reported.
Four bikes were stolen from an ostensibly guarded room, two of them specialized models for staggered starts and two of them ordinary racing bikes.
Six sprocket wheels and other competition equipment were also stolen.
"We finished prep work on the bikes at midnight and went to sleep. When we went to the storage area after breakfast, the bicycles were gone. The police is on the case," said Toivo Suvi, head coach of the Estonian team.
