Decathlete Erki Nool to run for Estonian Olympic Committee presidency
Estonian Olympic winner and politician Erki Nool officially announced he’ll run for President of the Estonian Olympic Committee, Postimees reported on Friday.
"I hereby announce that I am running for the post of the Estonian Olympic Committee president. I base my candidacy on my deep love for sport, but also a long and productive athletic career as well as my work in international governing bodies of sport, including on the European Olympic Committee's Athletes Commission and Medical Commission, and as a member of the European Athletics Development Committee," Nool said.
He added that he had organized an international competition for 12 years, and headed a sports school for 18 years.
Cool is a member of the Riigikogu for IRL. In the past, he also held positions on the Estonian Olympic Committee.
