Kalev/Cramo beat its rival University of Tartu/Rock in the fourth game in the finals of the Estonian League on Wednesday evening, clinching their fourth straight championship.
Kalev opened a 10-point gap in the first quarter at the Saku Suurhall arena, and never looked back, winning 83-72.
“I am happy the men pulled themselves together and did not cave without a fight. Tonight's game resembled the first and second game when they ran the show and we closed in, but then they found a higher gear,” said Gert Kullamäe, Rock's head coach.
Gregor Arbet, who scored 18 points for Tallinn, said they were better prepared and had more strength.
Kalev beat Rock 75-72 in their first game of the series, 87-84 in the second, and 80-64 in the third.
Vlad-Soren Moldoveanu led Tallinn with 19 points. Timo Eichfuss led Tartu with 17 points on 8-of-10 shooting from the field.
Kalev has beaten Rock in the finals of its championship streak. Rock won the title in 2010, 2008 and 2007.
