ERR has expanded its current 12-match deal to show Estonian football league games on TV for the next three years, covering more matches each season.

ETV will broadcast 33 league and a number of cup games live starting from March 2014, when the next season commences, ERR announced on Sunday.

“Estonian football's growing popularity and development in society has impressed us and that is the motivation behind the new deal,” said Marko Kaljuveer, who heads the sports department at ERR.

As ETV is available live via a webcast, ERR News will add links to important games, when they take place.

Jaak Mae, the secretary general of the Estonian Ski Association, told Postimees today that Otepää is in the run-off to host a world cross-country skiing cup stage in 2015, and the two main rivals for the spot have been ruled out.

Mae said "it is pretty certain" the stage will be held in Otepää, mentioning the dates January 17-18, 2015.

The Estonian cup season kicked off last week, but the first games offered few surprises as all Meistriliiga teams in action recorded wins.

Nõmme Kalju scored 14 unanswered goals against JK Reval, placed last in the IV S division, and Sander Post, playing for FC Flora, put eight past FC Reaal, IV N division, in a 18-0 win for the cup-holders.

Estonia takes on Kyrgyzstan at the A. Le Coq Arena in Tallinn on Tuesday as the last game of a three-match friendly run.

Belarus was in Tallinn last Monday, leaving with a 2-0 win, while Trinidad and Tobago had far less to celebrate, losing to Estonia 1-0 on Friday.
