Acting Ski Team Coach: No Further Shakeup
The interim coach of the Estonian ski team, Raul Olle, says no big changes will be made during longtime trainer Mati Alaver's suspension.
Olle, who is heading the team after Mati Alaver was suspended pending an arbitration court ruling in the matter of doping charges against retired star Andrus Veerpalu, said he would lead the team indefinitely.
"It is hard to say when the Veerpalu case will finally be resolved," he told sport.err.ee.
"My main task is representing the team at the World Cup events and Tour de Ski and dealing with organizational issues."
He said he would make no changes in personnel.
Nor did Olle provide information on whether Alaver was stepped aside of his own accord. "But it is clear that if Veerpalu is acquitted, Alaver will resume his job," he said.
The case is currently before the Court of Arbitration for Sport.
