Ethiopian, Estonians Triumph at Marathon
Estonian runners shined at the Tallinn Marathon, the country's biggest international footrace, claiming second, third and fourth place behind Ethiopian Tesfaye Dadi Beyene in the men's results.
On the women's side, Estonians swept the top spots, although the field was relatively far weaker than for the men, with the top finishers almost 45 minutes off record pace.
Beyene's time was 2:17.29. He was followed by Estonian national champion Ilja Nikolajev (2:21.34) and Heinar Vaine, a fairly new name and national runner-up (2:23.36). Sergei Tšerepannikov was fourth (2:24.02).
Evelin Talts was the fastest woman (2:56.26) and 49th overall, followed by Anu Teppo (2:58.58) and Kaisa Kukk (2:59.10).
