Leok Withdraws from British GP After Collision
Estonian motocross racer Tanel Leok and Scotland's Billy Mackenzie were forced to withdraw from the British Grand Prix at Matterley Basin after colliding in the race's second round on August 21.
Leok held the sixth position through most of the first round, but on the 10th lap managed to pass Mackenzie and Portugal-born Rui Gonclaves.
After the crash between Leok and Mackenzie, the race was red flagged and both men were rushed to the hospital.
Leok severely injured his lower back in the collision. A more complete diagnosis will be given after a doctor’s appointment in Belgium.
In the overall FIM Motocross World MX Championship rankings, Leok currently holds 11th place with 247 points.
