High School Senior Joins Danish Football Club
Under-19 striker Hannes Anier signed a three-year contract with Denmark's premier league football club Odense Boldklub, the team's website said on Thursday.
Anier, who has until now played for FC Flora, must finish high school before focusing completely on football beginning in July, reported soccernet.ee.
The Danish club's director, Poul Hansen, called Anier an “interesting” and fast player with strong technical and physical potential, and a professional attitude.
Odense Boldklub is a three-time national chamption and five-time cup winner in Denmark. It competes regularly in European leagues. The current season, however, has not been a successful one for the club, standing in eighth place in the national championship after 20 games.
Last year, Anier scored 10 goals for Flora in 25 games, having only been in the initial lineup in 10 games. The 19-year-old has also been capped for the under-21 team.
