Extreme Sports Fest Coming This Weekend in HD
Expert skateboarders and BMX daredevils from over two dozen countries are in Tallinn's Saku Suurhall arena today, practicing for the 13th edition of Simple Session, a long-established extreme sports festival taking place March 16 and 17.
The event is expected to draw around 200 competitors from 30 countries, including the top riders from the Scandinavian and Baltic region, sport.err.ee reported.
This year's Simple Session will be the first to be webcast live in full high-definition, to be carried by extreme.com.
Simple Session also stands out as one of the few such professional competitions that has a separate category for women. This year, 12 world-class stunt riders will participate in the division.
Female BMX-ers were the subject of an Estonian-produced short documentary film, “Sister Session,” which premiered on Wednesday as part of the festival's four-day cinema program. Our video news story on that film can be seen here.
