Joel Lindpere's US adventure has come to an end, with the Estonian national footballer moving to FC Banik Ostrva in the Czech league.

No details of the contract, including the length, have been revealed, Delfi reported on Wednesday.

Lindpere moved to the States in 2010 to join the New York Red Bulls, for whom he played nearly 100 official matches over three seasons, scoring the first goal in the club's new home, the Red Bull Arena, in 2010. He was voted the club's Most Valuable Player that season.

A far less glamorous spell with the Chicago Fire followed, and the 32-year-old, who has capped for the Estonian national team 92 times, left after only one season.

Two younger national team footballers are currently seeking new clubs, with Martin Vunk being tested by FK Taraz in Kazakhstan and defender Mikk Reintam recently in Slovakia showcasing his skills, albeit unsuccessfully, for Trnava Spartak.

National basketball team player Gregor Arbet has returned to Estonia after a spell in Greece that lasted only a year.

Arbet spent a year with the German club Würzburg during the 2004/2005 season, but has spent most of his career at Kalev/Cramo, who are favorites to sign him again.

Kalev/Cramo's head coach Alar Varrak told ERR on Wednesday that Arbet, 30, has yet to put pen to paper, but the team's managers have been in contact with him for a month and a half and hope to play him against main rivals Tartu Rock as early as today.

Arbet could not save his first Greek club, Kavala, from relegation to the second tier, and later joined Rethymno Aegean, for whom he played 15 games, scoring on average four points in 12 minutes of game time.
