If you're planning to break speed laws, you could save some money by carefully choosing your route, a newspaper has found.

According to an analysis by Postimees, traffic violators are fined on average more in North and South Police Prefectures, and less in the East and West Prefectures.

Police in the north and south police districts issue fines that are 15 to 30-percent higher than those handed out by their colleagues in the east or west for violations such as DUIs, speeding, driving without a fastened seat belt or without a license, the newspaper reported today.

Nationwide, average fines in the first seven months of 2013 have increased by 10 percent compared with 2012 levels.
