European Folklore Enchants Tartu
The annual international folk festival Europeade, is taking place in Tartu and bringing together 3,000 dancers and musicians, clad in traditional regalia, from all over Europe.
The four-day celebration is being held for the 48th time from July 20 to 24, ETV reported.
The head organizer of the festival, Bruno Peeters, put it this way: European folklore is like a diamond with many facets - the more angles, the more brilliantly it shines.
"I'm proud to see how the Germans, Irish, Sardinians and Lithuanians sing and play their instruments together," said Ants Johanson, project manager of Europeade. Johanson said he has experienced the atmosphere of the festival held in Italy and Lithuania, assuring that the spirit is also present in Tartu.
