Defense League Hones Tactical Skills on Saaremaa
Around 700 Defense League members across the nation are participating in the sixth tactics and cooperation exercise Orkaan (Hurricane) on the island of Saaremaa from December 2 to 4.
During the three-day exercise, participants must resolve different crisis situations and train defending objects of national importance, ETV reported.
According to the organizers, some local roads will be blocked, temporary checkpoints established and some speed restrictions imposed.
The Defense League has said it will respect the peace of the local residents. "The troops will certainly keep away from all private property surrounded by a fence. Pointless questioning at checkpoints would be against the rules of the exercise," said Lt. Col. Kristjan Moora, head of the Saare County territorial force of the Defense League.
