State and local municipality offices must from now on publish all available civil service positions on a common website.

“With the job application site the state guarantees that job seekers can find direct and quick access to suitable positions all over Estonia ,” Deputy Secretary General at the Finance Ministry said in a ministry press release today.

All civil servant vacancies, including military positions, must be advertised on the new site. State offices may also post employment contract based positions there.

The new Public Service Act took effect on April 1, this year, cutting the number of civil servants from 28,000 to between 20,000 to 22,000.

Different requirements and wage structures apply to civil servants and those whose employment relationship is regulated by the Employment Contracts Act.

The site, which can be found here, currently has 45 positions available.
