Tallinn Social Dems Will Not Plead With Mayor Over Kõlvart
The Social Democratic faction of the Tallinn City Council says it would be unfair to boot deputy mayor Mihhail Kõlvart based on the judgements in the national security agency's yearbook, however, the faction is considering a motion of no confidence over Kõlvart's incompetence in the field of education.
Jaak Juske, chair of the Social Dems in the City Council, said that if the council has objections to Kõlvart's remaining in place, it should call a no-confidence vote instead of pleading with the mayor in a letter, as the IRL and Reform Party councilmen have done.
Although the Social Democrats find Kõlvart incompetent in his job as deputy mayor responsible for education, Juske said KAPO guesstimates would not be a proper basis for his removal.
"If KAPO has hard evidence concerning Kõlvart's subversive activities, we're waiting to see it. To date, we haven't seen any," said Juske.
