Estonia Receives More Firepower for Afghanistan
Estonia has received a consignment of new M252 mortars from the US for improving its forces' capability in Afghanistan and other foreign missions.
The 80 long-range guns were handed over ceremonially in Tallinn on Tuesday by US Ambassador to Estonia Michael C. Polt.
The 81-mm mortars will be used in Afghanistan by the Estonian infrantry company unit charged with providing covering fire.
The Estonian infantry company in Afghanistan has been using a mortar unit since 2008.
