Quality Audit Finds Service Provider to Blame for Election Night Glitch
An audit has found that the information system developer Helmes AS was indeed responsible for the glitch that brought the live feed from the electoral committee to a halt on election night.
The March 24 finding by ASA Quality Services clears the way for the electoral committee to collect a contractual penalty of 8,503 euros from the company, Helmes AS, E24 reported.
Accordig to the audit, the company did not take the optimum measures to eliminate the problem, which caused a embarrassing 1.5 hour interruption in the transmission of election results on March 6.
The audit also found that the company had not done its best to map and assess risks and develop contingency plans.
