Paet: Ukraine Must Be Able to Determine Its Own Future (1)
Speaking at a meeting of EU foreign ministers on Friday, Estonia's Urmas Paet said Ukraine, Moldova and Georgia must be able to decide their own paths.
"The EU can help Ukraine reform. If the goal is a modern and democratic Ukraine then European Union membership perspective must accompany developments, if all requirements have been met,“ Paet said.
He said it is vital Ukrainian leaders decrease tensions and increase integration, adding that OSCE observer missions must begin in the country, and be able to work in the entire nation, including Crimea.
Other eastern European nations must not be forgotten, Paet said, adding that association and free trade agreements must be rushed with Georgia and Moldova, and visa requirements must be dropped.
