Putin: Border treaty with Estonia could be aided by trust
Estonian-Russian border treaty finalization could be helped along with more trust, said Russian President Vladimir Putin at an event in Moscow where, among others, new Estonian Ambassador to Moscow, Arti Hilpus, presented his credentials.
“We are set on maintaining a mutually respectful dialogue with Estonia in the spirit of good neighbourliness. Greater trust could assist in the coming into effect of the border agreement. You are well aware of our position regarding the rights and legal interests of our compatriots residing in Estonia and we proceed from the premise that they would be complied with in full, of course,” Putin said.
Besides Estonia, ambassadors of 14 other countries gave their credentials.
