Over 2,500 Birdwatchers Look to the Sky
According to the Estonian Ornithological Society, over 2,500 people birdwatched for an hour over the weekend, recording 58 different species.
As part of an annual drive by the society, the enthusiasts all had to note down birds they saw outdoors for one hour, sending the results to the society, ETV reported today.
Initial results show that the Great Tit again was the most visible species in Estonia, accounting for 24 percent of all of the 60,000 birds seen over the weekend.
The event, held since 2010, is the largest scientific project backed by information gathered by the public.
