On Monday, Estonian national football team lost its final UEFA Euro 2016 qualifier 1-0 to Switzerland, when Ragnar Klavan scored an unfortunate own goal 10 seconds before the final whistle.
Another anti-immigration rally took place in Tallinn on Wednesday. Although originally planned to last around 24 hours, it was cut short as the crowd disbanded earlier than the organizers had hoped for.
In the middle of the week, Foreign Minister Marina Kaljurand opened the new building of the Estonian Embassy in London. The embassy’s new address is 44 Queen’s Gate Terrace.
In Estonia, Aleksandr Petrov, the new Russian ambassador to Estonia, presented his credentials to President Toomas Hendrik Ilves.
On Friday, Kadri Simson, head of the Center Party faction in the Estonian Parliament, announced that she has agreed to stand for the party's chairman position.
