Postal Service to Test Electric Car
National postal service Eesti Post will start testing an electric car in Harju County.
The electric vehicle, Peugeot iOn, is 3.48 meters in length and can accommodate four people.
It takes around six hours to fully charge the battery. At an express charging point, it can be recharged up to 80 percent within 30 minutes. The battery range is 150 kilometers.
"Last year we tested a postal car running on compressed propane and ended up acquiring new vehicles," said Kaido Padar, head of the administrative division at Eesti Post. He said the postal service is actively seeking alternatives for fossil fuel-powered vehicles, as traditional engine fuels are becoming ever more expensive.
