Estonia may gain access to top-secret Skynet 5 military satellites
The day before the end of the first Estonian space satellite, ESTCube-1's mission also brought some unrelated orbital news with implications for defense and security.
The Daily Mail and other British media have reported that the UK is joining a NATO initiative for substantial sharing of its military hardware with 26 other countries. Estonia and Latvia could gain from the program.
The paper reported that the UK is on board for the Lead Nation Procurement Initiative (LNPI), which will permit flexible sharing of equipment between the 28 members of NATO. Started at the beginning of February, LNPI is led by the US millitary's Defence Security Cooperation Agency.
