International IT Conference to Look at How Digital Is Changing Business Models
While the eyes of the world will be on Estonia for a major Internet freedom conference next week, this week brings a more commercial-oriented event, "Change, Quick!"
The latter, hosted by Tallinn University on Thursday, April 24, will feature most of the constellation of brightest Estonian startup stars and international IT business leaders and discuss how IT is changing the face of business in all fields.
"Today, every company is an IT company," says the keynote speaker, Stephen Prentice, vice-president of Gartner. "Digital technology will ultimately transform all business fields - it's just a matter of time."
Other international names will include IT strategist Rudy de Waele, Tieto VP Joni Lehtonen and GrabCAD exec Hardi Meybaum. Estonian startups such as fits.me, TrasferWise and Fortumo will be represented as well.
“Change, Quick!” will present IT best practices from various fields - agriculture, clothing industry, logistics, retail and creative industries.
The president of Estonian Association of Information Technology and Telecommunications, Anneli Heinsoo, said the conference was more of "a workshop with world-famous IT gurus" plus a demo area where participants can see first-hand technical innovations.
It is all organized by the Estonian Association of Information Technology and Telecommunications and the Baltic Innovation Agency. More information at www.itkonverents.ee.
