Deaths outstripped births by 2,000 in 2014
Last year, 13,692 people were born in Estonia, and 15,533 deaths were recorded, according to the Ministry of the Interior.
Compared to 2013, the number of births fell by 139 and deaths increased by 59.
Last year boys outnumbered girls by 320, with 205 sets of twins being born.
According to the ministry, the population of Estonia was 1,350,548 as of January 1, 2015.
The most popular names were Rasmus (91 babies), Artjom (89), Robin (83), Martin (80) for the boys and for the girls it was Sofia (102), Eliise (74), Maria (73) and Mia (71).
