Food Bank announces record weekend haul
The Food Bank in Estonia collected close to 62,000 items of food over the weekend, a third more than at last year's Christmas drive.
The two-day drive took place in 34 stores in 17 cities with Tallinn (20,000), Tartu (12,000) and Pärnu (7,000) proving to be especially fruitful, Postimees reported today.
Sweets were donated the most (16,000), followed by pasta products (11,000) and canned goods (9,000), and the food will be used to feed around 3,000 deprived families.
The Food Bank holds similar drives four times each year, but direct donations can also be made. Find out how on their website (in English).
