Aigar Leok Takes 2nd in World Enduro Championship
Aigar Leok secured second and third place positions in the first event of this year's World Enduro Championship, held in Chile last weekend.
Riding a TM bike, Leok finished in second place in the E3 class on the first day of event, and in third place on the second day. The podium positions were also his first in the top tier of enduro racing, although the dirtbiker has previously achieved that feat in the Motocross GP.
“I am very content. I couldn't have expected that I would rise to the podium, but everything was right today and it was my day,” Leok told ruudulipp.ee. “I did not make any big mistakes, and although I was in a bit of a struggle with the enduro test, I won back time during the motocross and extreme tests [...] I am happy that the work I did during the winter has paid off. Today's race attests to that.”
Leok is now in second place in the overall standings, trailing Christophe Nabotin.
The next stage of the championship will take place in Argentina next weekend.
