Estonian Football Takes on Uruguay
The Estonian Football Association expects a crowd of 7,000 at tonight's friendly face-off between Estonia and Uruguay. The match begins at 19:00 local time (+2 GMT), and readers can watch a live feed of ETV, which begins coverage of the game 10 minutes ahead of the kickoff.
Tonight's game will start with a moment of silence to honor the 20,000 Estonian victims who were deported from their homes to Siberia 62 years ago by the Soviet authorities, as well as the sudden death this week of Olympic gold medal volleyball player Viljar Loor.
At 82 in FIFA's rankings, Estonian football players were in good spirits to take on two-time World Cup winner Uruguay, which won fourth place in South Africa last summer.
A followup match between Estonia and Uruguay will take place in Montevideo on June 22.
