Levadia walks off with first title of the season
Last year's league and Estonian Cup winner FC Levadia added a Super Cup trophy to its already impressive honors cabinet, beating second tier Tartu FC Santos 5-0 on Tuesday.
The Super Cup is usually contested between the league winner and the Estonian Cup winner, but as Levadia beat Santos 4-0 in the cup final last year, and won the league, Santos was given a second chance against Levadia.
Levadia went ahead 1-0 through Kaimar Saag on a rainy evening in Tallinn on Tuesday on the 32nd minute, adding two more shortly after the break. Rasmus Peetson added two more on the 70th and 72nd minute to finalize the scoreline.
The league itself kicks off a few days later on March 6 with Levadia entertaining FC Infonet (5th in 2014). On March 7, last season's runner up Sillamäe Kalev hosts Paide Linnameeskond (6th in 2014), while Nõmme Kalju, fourth last year, welcomes Tartu Tammeka (7th in 2014), Narva Trans (8th last year) takes on newcomer Pärnu Linnameeskond, and last year's third, FC Flora, hosts the second new team, Viljandi Tulevik.
The league season will end on November 11.
